ISO Certification International

Definition

ISO is a common short name (not an acronym) for the International Organisation For Standardisation. It is an alliance which unites organisations from all over the world to be responsible to create standards in their own country. In Malaysia, the Standard and Industrial Research Institute Malaysia (SIRIM) is the organization responsible for this. ISO 9000 is a written standard which decided and describes the basic elements necessary in the quality system to ensure service provided by an organisation is able to fulfil customers' expectations and is recognised internationally.

Quality

In ISO 9000, quality can be defined as the complete features and characteristics of a product or service which are able to fulfil the stated and hidden requirements of customers. Customers are responsible to judge whether the service provided fulfils the criteria that they set. Therefore, quality means ‘fulfilling customers requirements.
